Bath launches a new accommodation sector module and exchange rate tracker for its T-Stats system.
Bath Tourism Plus and Bath & North East Somerset Council were the UK trailblazers for T-Stats, and now have considerable experience working with it and enjoying its cost and time saving benefits.
Bath’s T-Stats system already tracks serviced and self-catering accommodation, visits to visitor attractions, the bi-annual visitor survey, and a wide range of indicators that provide insight into the visitor economy (car parking, park and ride, TIC footfall, website statistics, retail footfall, volume and value data, festivals and events, and the weather).
The system has recently been updated to allow accommodation providers to choose the how they want to record their monthly occupancy, providing greater flexibility and ease of use for both hotels and guesthouses. The updates also include a new module that tracks exchange rates with the pound. With a high level of overseas visitors, Bath Tourism Plus is keen to monitor the link between exchange rate fluctuations and tourism demand.
At the time of its launch, then Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus, Robin Bischert commented: “T-Stats has transformed the way we collect and track the visitor economy. Both our tourism staff and our members can now have up-to-the minute tourism data online. Other destination management organisations would certainly benefit from using it.”
