Acorn T-Stats is to provide the English Riviera TBID (Tourism Business Improvement District) with their advanced T-Stats Pro system to create a platform for tracking the visitor economy in the Torbay area.

T-Stats Pro is the latest version of Acorn’s tracking system that provides destinations with a reliable and easy-to-use system generating powerful information for making a wide range of decisions for planning, marketing and investment. BIDs have enjoyed great success throughout the UK in recent years, and there are now over 300 in operation.  They are business controlled initiatives that give local businesses the power to jointly raise funds to deliver a programme of agreed activities to protect the trading environment and deliver further business growth.

The English Riviera TBID is planning on using T-Stats Pro to track a wide range of indicators including:

  • Tourist arrivals volume and value
  • Visitor information centre activities
  • Business performance indicators
  • Website and social media activity
  • Marketing investment
  • BID operational data
  • Accommodation occupancy
  • Airbnb activity
  • Attraction visitor numbers
  • Transport and marina activity
  • Footfall
  • Car parking volume and value
  • Foreign exchange rates
  • Weather

T-Stats Pro will also provide the English Riviera Company with the ability to benchmark with other destinations around the UK. This will enable changes in Torbay area to be cross-checked against other areas using T-Stats, as well as using the comprehensive range of National Trackers that draw from VisitEngland and Office of National Statistics surveys on inbound and domestic tourism and national occupancy rates.
